JOB DESCRIPTION
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Global Marketing Manager leads Journey’s global marketing strategy across the luxury travel trade and direct consumer markets. Trade relationships remain at the core of the business; the role strengthens those relationships while deliberately growing direct business where strategically attractive. The Manager translates commercial priorities into measurable marketing activity, builds one distinctive Journey brand across Latin America, generates qualified demand, and personally moves a meaningful share of the work from idea through execution and measurement.

KEY OBJECTIVES

• Protect and grow Journey’s core luxury travel-trade business while building the direct channel selectively.
• Build Journey as one differentiated Latin American experiential travel brand and lead the transition from separate destination brands.
• Generate qualified demand and support conversion, revenue, and gross-margin growth.
• Create the campaigns, tools, and assets Business Development and Sales need to convert relationships into sales.
• Use market, customer, advisor and competitor insight to focus investment on the highest-potential opportunities.
• Measure performance and ROI, strengthen CRM practices, and redirect resources toward what works.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strategy, Segmentation & Commercial Planning
• Develop annual and quarterly integrated marketing plans across trade and direct channels, aligned with company growth priorities and Business Development activity.
• Own market segmentation, audience prioritization, customer/travel-advisor insight, competitor analysis, and identification of high-value growth opportunities.
• Allocate budget and resources according to expected strategic and commercial value; establish KPIs and adjust based on results.
2. Trade Marketing & Sales Enablement
• Partner with Business Development and Sales on priority trade accounts, agencies, consortia and markets; develop account-based marketing and campaigns around trade shows, sales trips, FAMs and advisor activity.

• Personally create or coordinate presentations, destination/product materials, communications and lead-nurturing tools that help convert relationships into sales.

• Jointly track and report lead-generation activity, lead quality, conversion and revenue contribution where practical.
3. Brand, Product Marketing & Go-to-Market
• Own Journey’s global positioning, messaging and brand consistency while preserving authentic local expertise.
• Own content strategy: define what content is needed, for whom and why; translate Journey’s genuine access, relationships and expertise into compelling product stories.
• Lead go-to-market planning for new destinations, products and initiatives, including target audiences, positioning, launch channels, assets and KPIs.

4. CRM, Consumer Growth & Channel Strategy
• Own consumer acquisition/retention strategy, CRM segmentation, lead nurturing, lifecycle, repeat and referral marketing while protecting trade relationships.
• Work directly in CRM and marketing platforms as needed to build segments, campaigns, journeys, reports and tests.
• Manage the appropriate mix of organic, earned, partner and paid channels based on audience, objective and expected return—not activity for activity’s sake.
5. Partnerships, Analytics & ROI
• Develop supplier- and partner-funded cooperative marketing programs with Supplier Relations and Sales; fulfill commitments and report results professionally.
• Build practical dashboards and attribution methods; personally analyze qualified leads, campaign performance, trade engagement, consumer performance, and marketing spend.
• Use data to recommend where Journey should increase, reduce, or redirect investment.
6. Hands-on Team, Agency & Budget Management
• Lead the marketing team while remaining an active contributor to execution; establish clear priorities, accountability, and efficient workflows.
• Manage agencies and specialists in web, design, SEO, photography/video, PR, and other areas—but use them for expertise or capacity, not as a substitute for doing the work.
• Determine what should be done personally, by the internal team or externally; do not default to additional headcount or outsourcing. Manage the global marketing budget.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED

• 7+ years of progressively responsible marketing experience; luxury travel/hospitality or another high-touch premium industry preferred.
• Integrated B2B/partner and direct-to-consumer marketing experience with strong commercial orientation.
• Hands-on CRM/database, campaign, performance-analysis, presentation, and writing/editing experience.
• Experience managing budgets, agencies, and specialists without relying on a large internal team.
• Excellent English; bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.

STRONGLY PREFERRED

• Luxury/experiential travel and travel-advisor, agency, or consortia marketing experience.
• First-hand knowledge of Latin America and major tourism markets; professional Spanish strongly preferred.
• Experience launching destinations/products or integrating brands into a common architecture.
• Familiarity with marketing analytics, attribution and modern CRM platforms; Portuguese or another language is a plus.
