We love the pared-back design tastefully dotted with the earthy touches of ceramics and ancient stone figures, while an open architectural style and sweeping 360° sea views immediately gave us a sense of decompression. Casa Chameleon feels like a hidden piece of paradise up in the hills.
We love that you can have days of no contact with the outside world, and as easily jump in a golf cart to get down to the beach. Large groups can think about renting the whole hotel for a super special stay.
Sustainability tab
Casa Chameleon at Las Catalinas carries out a number of sustainable practices that focus on bettering their environmental and social impact. Staff and guests can get involved in monthly beach clean-ups as well as participating in a ´Plant-a-Tree´ program. Additionally, a nominal nightly charge of 3USD goes to ´Abriendo Mentes´ (Opening Minds), a project in Guanacaste that empowers children and adults in rural communities through innovative education and community development programs.
In a commitment to cut down on the use of plastic, the hotel has switched in alternative materials for products including bamboo straws, glass bottles, cardboard over polystyrene, clay dispensers in bathrooms, durable fabric laundry bags, pencils over pens, and aluminum-packaged mini-bar items. The property has a water bottle program with a refill station for guests, as well as a recycling system where all plastic, glass, and aluminum waste is collected weekly by the local government to take to a recycling center.
Within its operations, Casa Chameleon implements efficient water-saving fixtures, the composting of organic waste, energy-efficient lighting, eco-friendly, non-toxic cleaning products, and a sustainable food supply chain.
