Tasty signature dishes like shrimp tostadas, black seafood risotto, and rich chocolate lava cake go down very well after a day out exploring. The property has an unbeatable location in protected cloud forest and we loved stepping outside to discover the exotic birds, chilled-out sloths, and elegant orchids that can be seen in the reserve´s dense jungle that´s been around for millions of years!

The lodge employs 100% of its staff from local areas, whose love for their home is reflected in the genuinely friendly and personalized service they provide. Operationally, much of the hotel´s energy consumption is supplied through its 47 solar panels, the swimming pool is purified with salt and stabilizers instead of chlorine, and biodegradable, environmentally friendly soaps, detergents, and cleaning products are used throughout the property. Monteverde Lodge offers farm-to-table fusion cuisine at El Jardin Restaurant, using local ingredients and promoting Costa Rican cuisine rather than importing produce from far away.
