We loved Nantipa as a great upscale hotel in Santa Teresa, right on the beach. The property feels shiny and new – a great match if you favor a modern aesthetic - yet maintains its authenticity as a Costa Rican beach experience. It was great to be able to dip into the buzz of San Teresa when we felt like exploring its cafés, yoga studios, and surf culture, while having the comfort of the hotel to relax and take days with a slower pace. Hammocks on the beach and plenty of seating by the hotel pool were great for lazy afternoons sunning and swimming.
Sustainability tab
Nantipa´s sustainability efforts encompass on- and off-property strategies to work towards minimizing harm to the environment and generating benefits for the local community. Single use plastic is reduced on the property, solid waste is recycled in partnership with NGO Nicoya Peninsula Waterkeepers, and solar energy systems are in place to heat water for guest rooms. Wastewater is treated with state-of-the-art technology and used for irrigation in the gardens, which host only endemic plants. Guests can get involved in beach cleanup programs and enjoy cuisine made with local recipes and ingredients. The hotel has also established partnerships with local producers, including farmers and fishermen, as well as providing community support through the creation of local sports teams and cultural groups.
